Senior Mechanical Technical Office Engineer (6 October- New Cairo)
1. Job Summary
The Senior Mechanical Technical Office Engineer is responsible for leading and managing mechanical technical office activities for residential and commercial construction projects. The role oversees the preparation, review, and coordination of shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, quantity take-offs, and technical documentation for HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems. The position ensures compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and consultant standards while supporting project execution and providing technical leadership to junior engineers.
2. Job Duties
• Prepare, review, and finalize mechanical shop drawings and coordination drawings based on IFC drawings, specifications, and consultant comments.
• Manage RFIs from initiation to closure, including follow-up and implementation of consultant responses.
• Prepare and review technical submittals including materials, method statements, and prequalification documents in coordination with procurement and site teams.
• Coordinate mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting) with civil, structural, and architectural disciplines to avoid clashes and site conflicts.
• Review quantity take-offs, update BOQs, and support procurement with accurate engineering quantities.
• Support site teams in resolving technical issues and ensuring proper execution of mechanical works.
• Review consultant comments, implement required modifications, and manage resubmission cycles.
• Maintain submittal registers, tracking logs, and technical documentation systems.
• Prepare progress reports related to mechanical technical office activities.
• Supervise and support junior engineers when required and distribute tasks under senior management direction.
3. Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in mechanical technical office roles within construction or contracting projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, HAP, Navisworks, Primavera P6 / MS Project, ERP systems (SAP or Oracle is a plus), and advanced MS Excel.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
• Strong analytical, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred certifications: PMP, Revit MEP, LEED, or FIDIC training.
• Strong experience in preparing and reviewing mechanical shop drawings and coordination drawings based on IFC drawings and consultant requirements.
• Ability to manage RFIs, technical submittals, and documentation cycles efficiently.
• Strong capability in multidisciplinary coordination to resolve design and site clashes.
• Experience in quantity take-offs, BOQ updates, and procurement support.
• Ability to maintain technical logs, tracking systems, and reporting documentation.
• Capability to supervise and support junior engineers when required.
