Job Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all electrical engineering activities on construction projects, including design review, installation supervision, quality control, and commissioning, ensuring full compliance with electrical codes, standards, and project specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Electrical Engineering & Design Review
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals for correctness.
• Prepare and approve electrical shop drawings and material submittals.
• Coordinate electrical design with civil, architectural, and mechanical disciplines.
• Provide engineering guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
2. Site Supervision & Quality
• Oversee electrical installation works ensuring compliance with approved drawings and codes.
• Conduct quality inspections and manage electrical NCRs and RFIs.
• Coordinate with the QC team for electrical testing and inspection activities.
3. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
• Manage electrical testing, inspection, and commissioning programs.
• Prepare commissioning reports, punch lists, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure complete handover of electrical systems with all O&M documentation.
4. Reporting
• Prepare weekly electrical engineering reports for project management.
• Maintain all electrical technical documentation and certification records.
Qualifications & Skills
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Certificates: Chartered or licensed electrical engineer; safety certification preferred.
• Years of Experience: 1:3 years in electrical engineering within the construction industry.
• Software: AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, MS Office, ETAP (preferred).
• Skills: Deep knowledge of electrical systems and codes, strong engineering and coordination skills, ability to manage teams, analytical thinking, attention to detail.
