Job Purpose The Senior Commercial Engineer is responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects on behalf of the Main Contractor, from pre-contract/tender stage through project completion and final account. Area of Experience: • Commercial and contractual awareness • Contract administration • Cost control and forecasting • Variations and change management • Claims management • Subcontract management • Risk management Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. • Minimum 6–8 years of relevant commercial experience in construction. • Experience working for a Main Contractor on medium to large-scale construction projects. • Strong experience in main contract administration, cost control, variations, claims, subcontract management, and final accounts. • Strong knowledge of FIDIC and/or other major construction contract forms. • Good understanding of construction methods, drawings, specifications and BOQs. • Excellent communication skills. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with commercial/project management software. • Ability to work independently and manage commercial matters with minimal supervision.
